Are You a First-Time College Student?

If you’ve never taken college courses (or only took any before or right after high school), you qualify as First-Time in College at Texas A&M University-Victoria.

University Admissions Standards

Individual Review (Holistic Appeal)

If you don’t meet the above benchmarks, you can still apply through an appeal, including:

  • A personal letter of appeal
  • Two recommendation letters from trusted high school staff
  • Official transcripts—let us see your potential!

Note:

  • You must graduate under the Foundation “Endorsement” or “Distinguished” High School Program, or an equivalent rigorous curriculum.
  • GED holders meet the 2.5 GPA requirement.

Health & Residency: What You Need

  • Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine: Required for students under 22. Must submit proof of immunization or booster within 5 years.
  • Residency: Texas residents pay in-state tuition; non-residents pay out-of-state. Learn more about residency criteria.

Fall

  • Application deadline: August 20

Spring

  • Application opens: August 1
  • Application deadline: January 12
  • Document deadline: January 14

Summer

  • Application deadline: May 23
  • Document deadline: June 1

Official Transcript Options

To ensure accurate evaluation, official transcripts must be sent directly from your high school or institution. We do not accept transcripts sent as email attachments.

Preferred Methods:

  • Electronic: Via TREx (Texas) or EDI for faster processing.
  • eDoc Services: PDF via secure platforms like Naviance, Parchment, or Speede (FICE: 013231).
