If you’ve never taken college courses (or only took any before or right after high school), you qualify as First-Time in College at Texas A&M University-Victoria.

University Admissions Standards

Assured Admissions Criteria

Freshman students at A&M-Victoria qualify for assured admissions. JUST MEET ONE of the following criteria:

GPA

2.5 unweighted GPA or higher on a 4.0 GPA Scale

Standardized Test

SAT minimum score of 980 or ACT minimum score of 19

Class Rank

Top 50% of your high school class

Student Success Plan

Meet One of These Three:

GPA

2.0-2.49 unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale

Test Scores

SAT minimum score of 940 or ACT minimum score of 18

Rank

Top 50% of class. You'll create a Student Success plan and meet weekly.

Individual Review (Holistic Appeal)

If you don’t meet the above benchmarks, you can still apply through an appeal, including:

A personal letter of appeal
Two recommendation letters from trusted high school staff
Official transcripts—let us see your potential!

Note:

You must graduate under the Foundation “Endorsement” or “Distinguished” High School Program, or an equivalent rigorous curriculum.
GED holders meet the 2.5 GPA requirement.

Health & Residency: What You Need

Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine: Required for students under 22. Must submit proof of immunization or booster within 5 years.
Residency: Texas residents pay in-state tuition; non-residents pay out-of-state. Learn more about residency criteria.

Complete and submit an Application for Admission on ApplyTexas.org

Pay Application Fee

To complete your application to Texas A&M University-Victoria, a $25 application fee is required. However, you may be eligible for a fee waiver.

Submit Documents & Test Scores

Please request your official high school transcript, test scores (if applicable), and any other supporting documents to be sent directly to Texas A&M University-Victoria's Office of Admissions.

Track Admission Status

Track the progress of your application, submit any additional documents if requested, and stay informed about critical updates.
