The University of Houston-Victoria recently appointed Regina L. Morales of Richmond and Lance LaCour of Katy to its Presidents Advisory Council.

A Fort Bend County resident for over 15 years, Morales is currently the director of economic development for the city of Sugar Land. She also serves on the board of directors for Scenic Houston and has been involved with a number of philanthropic organizations, including the Red Cross and Rotary International.

LaCour is president and CEO of the Katy Area Economic Development Council. Over the last 15 years, he has directly assisted in the creation of over 6,500 jobs and nearly $1 billion in capital investment. He holds memberships in several economic development councils as well as CoreNet and Team Texas.

We are delighted the Ms. Morales and Mr. LaCour will be serving on the PAC, said UHV President Tim Hudson, who announced the appointments at the advisory councils summer meeting. They will enhance representation from the critical greater Fort Bend area at a time when UHV is rapidly expanding its presence there.

The councils 20 members serve both as advisers to the president, providing a critical external perspective, and as advocates for the university to the surrounding community. Both Morales and LaCour will serve a three-year term on the council.
