UHV signs NCAA Division 1 player

Pitcher Kristen Lindley has signed a letter of intent to play collegiate softball with the University of Houston-Victoria Jaguars.
�Lindley has played the last two seasons at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. During her career with the NSU Demons, Lindley compiled a record of 7 wins, 12 losses in 42 appearances. She started 27 games. Lindley also compiled a 4.00 GPA and has been recognized for her prowess in the classroom.
�Lindley was heavily recruited out of Klein Collins High School where she lettered four years in softball and one year in volleyball. As a senior, she was a member of the district championship team and was named first-team All District, team MVP, and earned the Team Captain Award. As a junior she was second-team All-District. In her sophomore year, she was first-team All-District. Freshman honors included, first-team All-District, team MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year.
�Jaguars head coach Keri Lambeth is excited to get a player of Lindley�s caliber.
��To have such a talented and smart young lady transfer from the Division 1 setting to UHV speaks volumes about the direction our program is heading,� said Lambeth. �Kristen brings experience and knowledge that will benefit our team.�
�The Jaguars� inaugural softball season begins in February 2008.
