Four Jaguars receive all-region softball honors
Pitcher Lauren Garza and designated player Kristen Lindley were named to the all-region First team. Shortstop Stephanie Lavey and outfielder Cirby Ryan were named to the Second Team.
�"I'm very proud of these young ladies," said head coach Keri Lambeth, "We are in a very competitive region with the 2007 National Champions Oklahoma City University, the 2008 National Champions Lubbock Christian University, #6 in the nation St. Gregory's University, and #20 in the nation Rogers State. This honor puts them in the category with the top players in the country."
�Lindley is ranked 5th in the country in RBIs per game and Garza's 18 wins rank her 28th in the nation.
�"This clearly speaks volumes about their ability as players and to Keri's ability as a coach," said UHV athletic director Ashley Walyuchow. "I can't imagine, over time that too many first year programs place 4 players on all-region teams in their first season. I'm very proud of these 4 players and the entire team for what was accomplished this year..."
�The Jaguars finished the season ranked 15th in the NAIA and 4th in Region VI with a record of 32 wins and 18 losses.
