<p>Kayla Ready, a recent graduate of A.C. Jones High School in Beeville, got the call to be a teacher about three years ago.</p> <table align="right" border="0" cellpadding="3" style="bordercollapse: collapse;" width="100"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="bordercollapse: collapse;"><img alt="Kayla Ready" src="images/Uploads/underclassmen/ReadyKaylaWeb.jpg" style="border-width: 0px; float: right;" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="middle" style="bordercollapse: collapse;"><font size="1">Kayla Ready</font></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p>&ldquo;I started teaching Sunday school at my church for little kids, and it came easily to me,&rdquo; Ready said.</p> <p>She&rsquo;s planning to pursue her dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher by joining the FIRST 200 freshmen at the University of Houston-Victoria and earning her bachelor&rsquo;s degree in education.</p> <p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s close to home, and it looks like a good town to go to college,&rdquo; Ready said. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m not the big city kind of girl.&rdquo;</p> <p>Ready said she is excited to be a part of the groundbreaking FIRST 200.</p> <p>&ldquo;All my friends think it&rsquo;s cool because they&rsquo;re going to colleges where there have always been freshmen, and I&rsquo;m one of the first ones to go to UHV,&rdquo; she said.</p> <p>Ready likes to draw wildlife, and she participated in several extracurricular activities while she was in high school. These included the Bee County Youth Board, National Honors Society and Bee County 4-H Ambassadors Club.</p> <p>She also was member of a local 4-H Club. In competitions, she entered show chickens, cooking and artwork.</p>
