New student has drive to help others

<p>Claudia Fuentes, a senior at Southside High School in San Antonio, likes Victoria because it&rsquo;s a small town.</p> <table align="right" border="0" cellpadding="3" style="bordercollapse: collapse;" width="100"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="bordercollapse: collapse;"><img alt="Claudia Fuentes" src="images/Uploads/underclassmen/FuentesClaudia.jpg" style="border-width: 0px; float: right;" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="middle" style="bordercollapse: collapse;"><font size="1">Claudia Fuentes</font></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p>&ldquo;I hope to establish myself here,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;I&rsquo;ve always been the kind of person to not stop and keep working.&rdquo;</p> <p>Fuentes plans to earn her bachelor&rsquo;s degree in nursing from the University of Houston-Victoria.</p> <p>In high school, Claudia serves as parliamentarian of the National Honor Society and is an active member of the student council. She also has been a student athlete in volleyball and softball. While she doesn&rsquo;t plan to play softball at UHV, she does plan to be an avid fan, she said.</p>
