Student aspires to be teacher

<p>Ana Gabriela Cervantes, a senior at Morton Ranch High School in Katy, first noticed the University of Houston-Victoria because of the reputation of the School of Education & Human Development.</p>

<p>But she's also excited about being a part of the FIRST 200 freshmen.</p>
<p>"Being part of the FIRST 200 will be a wonderful experience to have this fall," she said.</p>
<p>Cervantes plans to be an elementary school teacher someday. In the meantime, she plans to be a regular at UHV Jaguars softball games.</p>
<p>"I love softball," she said.</p>
<p>She is involved in many high school student organizations and previously was vice president of the German Club.</p>
