Ana Gabriela Cervantes, a senior at Morton Ranch High School in Katy, first noticed the University of Houston-Victoria because of the reputation of the School of Education & Human Development.

Ana Gabriela Cervantes

But she's also excited about being a part of the FIRST 200 freshmen.

"Being part of the FIRST 200 will be a wonderful experience to have this fall," she said.

Cervantes plans to be an elementary school teacher someday. In the meantime, she plans to be a regular at UHV Jaguars softball games.

"I love softball," she said.

She is involved in many high school student organizations and previously was vice president of the German Club.
