“I’m excited about meeting new people, the classes and moving somewhere different,” said De La Cruz, a senior at Klein Collins High School in Spring who plans on attending UHV in the fall.

De La Cruz said she became interested in UHV because of the small class sizes.

“I think it will be easier for me to adjust to college at UHV,” she said.

She wants to get a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting so that eventually she can become a Certified Public Accountant. She also is interested in taking computer science classes.

At her high school, De La Cruz has been involved with DECA, an organization for students interested in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. De La Cruz and other members of the club recently returned from the organization’s International Career Development Conference in Louisville, Ky. She also was a member of the Fashion Club and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes during high school.
