Student comes to UHV to make history

<p>When Jaime Luna, a senior at Idea College Preparatory in Donna, heard about the University of Houston-Victoria, one fact really jumped out at him.</p> <table align="right" border="0" cellpadding="3" style="bordercollapse: collapse;" width="100"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="bordercollapse: collapse;"><img alt="Jaime Luna" src="images/Uploads/underclassmen/LunaJaime.jpg" style="border-width: 0px; float: right;" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td align="middle" style="bordercollapse: collapse;"><font size="1">Jaime Luna</font></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <p>&ldquo;The chance to be a one of the first freshmen caught my attention right away,&rdquo; Luna said. &ldquo;I want to be a part of history.&rdquo;</p> <p>He added that he liked the thought of blazing trails other people would one day follow.</p> <p>The size of UHV also drew his attention.</p> <p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s not too big, but you&rsquo;ll still meet someone new every day,&rdquo; he said.</p> <p>Outside of the classroom, he plays baseball and soccer, and enjoys volunteering with different organizations in his community.</p> <p>&ldquo;If I can help out, I will,&rdquo; he said.</p> <p>Luna wants to major in criminal justice and pursue a career in law enforcement.</p> <p>&ldquo;I want to create a safe environment for kids to grow up in,&rdquo; he said.</p>
