Eric Horelka is looking forward to doing something different in the fall when he’ll be part of the FIRST 200 at the University of Houston-Victoria.

“It will be a whole new experience with new classes and new people,” said Horelka, who recently graduated from Memorial High School in Victoria.

Since Horelka lives in Victoria, he already was familiar with UHV before he applied. In fact, his family has friends who are employed at the university.

Horelka played baseball for two years in high school before serving as the team manager his junior year. He also participated in Future Farmers of America and was a bull rider for an area rodeo team made up of high school students.

He plans on majoring in biology at UHV and hopes to eventually become a dentist.
