UHV makes donation to food bank

Miles Harrison, left, chair of the University of Houston-Victoria Staff Council, and Lawrence Nelson, vice chair, accept food donations from the community outside of H-E-B plus! on July 31. The event was part of the Staff Council�s Summer Food Drive to benefit the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. The two-week drive raised 2,490 pounds of food and water donated by UHV employees and community members. That amount can provide an average family with 1,660 meals. Cash donations made during the drive also will supplement another 144 meals.
