University brings in expert to help people find jobs

SUGAR LAND - Everyone seems to be asking the question, �How do you find a job in this down economy?�

To answer the question, the University of Houston-Victoria is bringing in job search expert Rick Gillis from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the University of Houston System at Sugar Land.

Gillis will discuss techniques and strategies to use when applying for a job during the free seminar in the Multi-Purpose Room of Brazos Hall, 14004 University Blvd. The event is open to the public.

Gillis is a job search expert, radio personality, and author of �The Real Secret to Finding a Job? Make Me Money or Save Me Money!� He also launched the first local employment Web site for the greater Houston market.

�With one out of every 10 people in this country unemployed, this is information a lot of people need to hear,� said Eunice Mesa, UHV Career Services coordinator. �And as a university, our whole purpose is to give people the knowledge they need to succeed.�

UHV offers many of the programs at UHSSL.
