High school students interested in teaching come to UHV

Region III Texas Association of Future Educators Conference
Students and teachers from eight area schools and school districts participate in the Region III Texas Association of Future Educators Conference on Oct. 28 at the University of Houston-Victoria. The approximately 190 students went on campus tours, competed in contests and took a pre-professional teacher�s test. Sandy Hybner, senior recruitment coordinator for the UHV School of Education & Human Development, and Debbie Mosier, teacher sponsor and a UHV alumna, coordinated the conference. Diane Prince, UHV interim dean of the School of Education & Human Development, was a guest speaker and university education faculty and staff also assisted by serving as judges and in other capacities. Students came from Liberty Academy in Victoria and school districts including Van Vleck, Goliad, Columbus, Edna, Industrial, Rice and Hallettsville.
