UHV baseball squad fails to break into Top 25
The University of Houston-Victoria baseball team received one vote Tuesday, but failed to break into the first regular-season edition of the 2011 NAIA Baseball Coaches� Top 25 Poll.
The Jaguars (19-16) are ranked No. 2 in the Association of Independent Institutions Conference poll behind California State University-San Marcos, which received three votes and failed to break into the Top 25 as well.
Oklahoma City University received 17 first-place votes and were at No. 1, just 15 points ahead of No. 2 Lee University (Tenn.), which received two first-place votes. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with two first-place votes, was at No. 3 and Oklahoma Baptist broke in at No. 4.
Two Texas schools broke into the Top 25, with Northwood University at No. 12 and Lubbock Christian at No. 18.
The University of Texas-Brownsville received 67 votes and Texas Wesleyan five votes.
