Community residents are invited to a public meeting Thursday to learn more about what is needed for the University of Houston-Victoria to become a destination university.

The meeting will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the UHV University Center Multi-Purpose Room, 3007 N. Ben Wilson St. A reception will follow.

UHV Interim President Vic Morgan and staff from the national Association of Governing Boards will make a presentation. Morgan also will talk about UHV’s exit strategy from UH Sugar Land, a UH branch campus where UHV offers degree programs.

“I encourage anyone from the community who has an interest in the future of UHV to attend this important meeting to learn more about our transition to a successful destination university in Victoria where students can come to get the full college experience,” Morgan said.

Renu Khator, UH System chancellor and UH president, also will be in attendance.

Several documents are available for review under “Updates” on the UH System’s UH Sugar Land transition website at www.uhsa.uh.edu/sugarlandtransition/index.php. These include an executive summary and summaries from each work group.
