Eleven high school students from Calhoun, Bloomington, Victoria West and Victoria East high schools and one homeschooled student are participating in the camp that started Monday and will end Friday in the UHV University North robotics lab. During the first two days, students learned how to program a robot to use color sensors to follow a line on the floor, and use sound sensors and a buffer to solve mazes. By the end of the camp, students will be learning how to program robots to communicate and cooperate to complete tasks. The camp is funded by a grant from Alcoa Foundation and managed by Amjad Nusayr, UHV assistant professor of computer science.
