A&M-Victoria alumnus, former surgeon lectures on campus about cardiogenic shock

Dr. Yusuke Yahagi, a former cardiothoracic surgeon, talks about cardiogenic shock, a serious medical emergency caused by inadequate blood flow due to a problem with the heart, during a lecture on Oct. 14 at Texas A&M University-Victoria. The lecture, organized by faculty and attended by students from both research and human nutrition classes, aimed to shed light on heart diseases as being one of the leading causes of death in the country. The audience not only included students from A&M-Victoria, but also high school students from the Ganado Independent School District, where Yahagi teaches. Other notable attendees in the lecture included House District 30 Rep. AJ Louderback, Victoria Mayor Duane Crocker, Ganado Mayor Clinton Tegeler and more. Yahagi is an alumnus from A&M-Victoria, who earned his teaching certification last year through the university's VOICE program.
