A&M-Victoria faculty, students attend Career Day event

TOP: Dmitri Sobolev, interim dean of the College of Natural & Applied Science at Texas A&M University-Victoria, talks to students at Torres Elementary School about robotics and semiconductors on Friday, Nov. 21 during the school’s Career Day event. In addition to his presentation, Sobolev worked with students in an activity that taught students how to build a simple transistor-based circuit. 

BOTTOM: Humberto Hernandez, center, A&M-Victoria associate professor of biology, attended the Torres Elementary School Career Day event on Friday, Nov. 21 with two A&M-Victoria students, Alek Servin, left, and Ema Ismail, to talk with elementary students about careers in science and how to become a scientist. Students also had a chance to learn how to practice using pipettes to transfer water between petri dishes, similar to how liquids would be transferred in a lab.
