A&M-Victoria hosts cooking demonstration in cultural education series
Marcie Kucera, an extension health agent with Texas A&M AgriLife, demonstrates to the audience how they can cook a mushroom and sauerkraut pierogi on Oct. 21 during a Cooking Well Exploring Cultures session looking into Polish food at Texas A&M University-Victoria. The series is a partnership between A&M-Victoria and A&M AgriLife Extension and occurs every Tuesday throughout the month of October. The series is designed to educate participants about global cuisines and traditions with each week dedicated to spotlighting a different country. Recent sessions have celebrated the cuisines of the Philippines and India. In the sessions, attendees enjoyed live demonstrations, tasted samples of dishes and viewed educational videos that delve into each culture's rich heritage. After each session, participants are given recipes and encouraged to recreate the meals at home and experiment with new flavors.
