A&M-Victoria professor builds partnership during summer lab visit

Gohel visited the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory over the course of 10 weeks, from late June through early August. The visit, a blend of in-person and remote, was aimed at strengthening ongoing research collaborations, exploring advanced projects in artificial intelligence and quantum science, and creating deeper ties with the Department of Energy. During his 10-week initiative, Gohel drafted research proposals, designed AI and machine learning solutions, and built relationships to support future joint initiatives. He also presented research on the application of generative AI for environmental remediation and geophysics and explored the integration of quantum science into geophysical projects. Gohel hopes that these initiatives will attract new students and professionals to A&M-Victoria’s expanding programs in AI and quantum science, positioning the university as a leader to prepare the next generation of STEM talent.
