A&M-Victoria’s Super Saturday to connect Jaguars with classes, aid and resources
Texas A&M University-Victoria students will have one more opportunity to attend a registration event on campus to get everything in order before the start of the fall semester.
Super Saturday, a special enrollment and student support event, is set for Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at University Commons.
Designed as a last push before classes begin, Super Saturday will bring together key student services in one location to help current and incoming Jaguars finalize their plans, said Molly Duke, A&M-Victoria admissions recruiter. The event primarily serves students who have not yet registered for classes or still need assistance with advising, financial aid, billing or admissions paperwork.
“I am really excited for the students because it’s going to be a great fall semester,” Duke said. “We have a lot of new students, and it’s going to just liven up campus.”
Multiple campus departments will be on hand to guide students through each step of the enrollment process. Representatives will include advisors from all colleges, the Student Success Center, Billing, Financial Aid and Admissions. Students should come with any necessary documents and any questions about their enrollment, financial aid or class registration.
Because some conversations involve personal and financial information, the event will make use of the library study spaces in University Commons to help maintain student privacy, Duke said.
The event is structured as a walk-in opportunity rather than a scheduled program. Students can arrive any time between 10 a.m.-1 p.m. without an appointment. To help staff anticipate demand, a sign-up link is available, though it is not required. The link can be found at https://bit.ly/4zdU7Er.
When students arrive inside University Commons, they are encouraged to make a stop at the check-in table on the first floor. There, they will be greeted by staff and receive a small welcome perk in the form of a coupon for a free medium drink from Jaguar Java.
“I hope the event will get students to feel more comfortable and confident starting with us,” Duke said. “Whatever they need, we’ll be there.”
The first day of the Fall term is Monday, Aug. 24.
