Civil Discourse Series opens with message from legislator

Texas Rep. AJ Louderback, right, answers questions from Woodrow Wagner, director of institutional strategies, and speaks to Texas A&M University-Victoria students Monday during the first session of the Civil Discourse Series. Louderback was the keynote speaker for the weeklong series that focuses on the importance of civil discourse in today’s society. The series is a part of an initiative created by The Texas A&M University System. Louderback’s presentation focused on his personal experience as a legislator and former law enforcement official in handling difficult topics, treating others with respect and finding a way to compromise to achieve important goals.

Texas A&M University-Victoria, located in the heart of the Coastal Bend region since 1973 in Victoria, Texas, offers courses leading to more than 50 academic programs in the colleges of Business, Education & Health Professions, Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, and Natural & Applied Science.
