Marketing department to host pizza pop-up in Victoria
Students looking for a fun break from campus obligations are invited to head off-site for a St. Patrick’s Day Pizza Night pop-up hosted by Texas A&M University-Victoria’s Marketing & Communications team.
The event will take place Thursday, March 12, from 6-9 p.m. at Evan’s Fire Brick Oven Pizza, 711 S. Bridge St.
The event is tailored to bring students together for an evening of food, music and giveaways, said co-organizers and student workers Sam Selvam and James Martinez.
“The main thing I want students to take away from this event is just communicate, make friends, make connections and explore life outside of campus,” Selvam said. “We will welcome you with open arms.”
A shuttle will be available running between Jaguar Hall and the event venue to provide round-trip transportation to students.
The idea for the event stemmed from a Valentine’s Day pop-up event and a desire to step outside the box by staging a college night off campus, Martinez said. After seeing Evan’s Pizza online, Martinez said he gave them a call, and the business welcomed the collaboration.
The event will feature live music, a selfie station with St. Patrick’s Day props, complimentary appetizers and drinks for early arrivals, and giveaways including a chance to win a Bruno Mars vinyl, a Bad Bunny vinyl and a poster. Winners will be drawn from entries and must present a valid student ID to claim their prize.
“For any student organizations or any businesses that want to collaborate and host events for students, please reach out,” Martinez said. “We’re always open to ideas.”
