Residency Pathway

Start Strong with the Residency Pathway at Texas A&M University-Victoria

The Residency Pathway is a real, hands-on classroom teaching experience that helps future teachers meet the Texas certification requirements TAC §228.65. It takes place at the end of your teacher training courses, during your senior year, and gives you the chance to practice what you've learned.

After completing freshman and sophomore core courses and then following the recommended course plan, you can complete the courses that train you to become a teacher — including the residency — in just 5 semesters.
