Skills and Knowledge

We often get feedback from the practicum sites with how impressed they are with our students.  Our students often stay at their sites after practicum, graduation, and as employees.  The practicum site supervisors are impressed with the skills and knowledge of our students.

  2. Two Letters of Recommendation (including the Recommendation Form for Graduate Psychology Programs).
  3. Evidence of having completed undergraduate or graduate courses in Statistics, Research Methods in Social Sciences or Psychology, and Psychopathology/Abnormal Psychology. The exam may be taken no more than once for a particular course.
  4. Graduate Admissions Index of 980 or higher. Official GRE General Test scores are required to calculate your Admissions Index.
  5. Official transcripts sent directly to the Office of Admissions from every institution previously attended.
  6. An interview with A&M-Victoria graduate faculty in psychology.

Feb 15 Deadline

All applications must be completed by February 15 to be considered for admission for the fall of that year.  Students may start the psychology M.A. programs only during the fall semester.

Because this program is based in Victoria, Texas one of our main goals is to prepare students to become Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) and Licensed Psychological Associates (LPA’s) in Texas to work with forensic populations.

However, if you are coming from another state, the program also conforms to basic master’s level training and licensing requirements in counseling for most states. Please check your state’s licensure laws to see if our program will meet their requirements.
