Campus Life
Leadership Opportunities
Because Texas A&M University-Victoria realizes the importance of leadership in the workplace and in the communities where we live, A&M-Victoria provides students with a variety of leadership opportunities on and off campus as well as virtually. When opportunities arise, we will send student leaders to off-campus conferences and retreats in order to further enhance their leadership skills. Students will represent A&M-Victoria at House Bill hearings in Austin and at the public hearings on tuition increases. On-campus or hybrid leadership opportunities include our annual ROAR Leadership Conference and our ROAR Certified Leader Program, which are both aimed at helping students enhance their marketability. Students also help organize and facilitate university events like Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month, Homecoming, Family Weekend, and the Student Organization & Leadership Banquet. Finally, A&M-Victoria employs over 100 student workers each semester as tutors, student directors, lab assistants, and more. Students develop valuable skills through participation as a student worker. We value our students and realize the importance of enhancing and promoting leadership skills.
