General CTAP Questions
What is CTAP?
The Campus Textbook Access Program (CTAP) is a program that provides undergraduate and graduate students access to all required course materials on or before the first day of class for a flat, per semester fee.
What is eligible to be covered by the CTAP fee?
The CTAP fee covers required course textbooks for undergraduate and graduate students. Course materials are defined as any item with an International Standard Book Number (ISBN) that is legally available for sale or distribution in the United States to the higher education market. This includes e-books, courseware, and clickers. Recommended materials are not included in the CTAP fee.
What is not covered by the CTAP fee?
Products and services that are not eligible for CTAP are non ISBN materials including: web subscriptions such as Inchainge and Esri ArcGIS; Labster; software, survey, evaluation and assessment tools; and supplies such as goggles and science and art kits. In addition, recommended materials are not included in the CTAP fee.
How do I know if I'm eligible?
All undergraduate and graduate students are automatically opted into CTAP upon registration. No separate action is required.
Can I use Financial Aid?
If your financial aid exceeds your tuition and fees, it can cover your CTAP cost. For specific questions about your aid package, email the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@tamuv.edu.
If you have been awarded financial aid and your award surpasses the cost of tuition and fees, the CTAP cost can be covered by the aid you have already been awarded. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for questions related to your specific situation at finaid@tamuv.edu

Opting In and Out
How do I opt in to CTAP?
All students are automatically enrolled in CTAP upon class registration each term. You do not need to take any separate action.
Can I opt out of CTAP?
Yes, you can opt out of CTAP each semester, but doing so means you must source and purchase your own course materials.
How do I opt out?
To opt out of CTAP, go to your student portal account and click the “Finances” tile. Select “Term CTAP Opt Out” from the left column, then click "Opt Out."
Can I opt back in if I already opted out?
You can opt back in any time before the Official Reporting Day (ORD/Census Date) for Regular Session 1.
Check your student portal for this specific date. Go to your Student portal > Finances > Term CTAP Opt Out and if you would like to opt back in click Opt In.
If I choose to opt out of CTAP, will I be refunded the fee?
If you opt out of CTAP prior to the deadline, Official Reporting Day (ORD) for 'Regular Session 1' as reflected in the academic calendar, the CTAP charges will be removed from your account within one business day. The CTAP fee is non-refundable after the opt-out deadline. Please contact the Student Business Services Office for questions related to refunds at Billing@tamuv.edu.
What is the last day to opt out?
The Opt-out end date is the Official Reporting Day (ORD/Census) for 'Regular Session 1'. semester.
If I withdraw from the University, will I be refunded the CTAP fees?
To get a refund, you must withdraw by the Regular Session 1 Census date (ORD) without accessing any course materials.
When will the opt-out window open?
The Opt-out window will open approximately 60 days before the term begins.
Digital Course Materials
How do I access my required digital course materials?
Students participating in the program will have their required digital materials available directly in Canvas (our campus learning management system/LMS).
Students will receive emails from no-reply@kortext.com with instructions and details on accessing their materials.
For any technical issues and additional support, students can email support-us@kortext.com.
Do I get to keep the materials at the end of each term?
Required physical materials can be kept by the student at the end of each term and do not have to be returned. Digital materials can be accessed for a minimum of 180 days and may be available for a longer period of time based on the material adopted and the publisher's terms.
Can I get a printed copy of digital materials?
Some publishers will offer low-cost printed versions of the materials through the link provided in Canvas.
I received an incomplete grade for one or more of my classes. Will I continue to have access to digital materials in future semesters so I may complete the class(es)?
Yes, you’ll need to work with the campus store manager to get a new copy of the material. Proof will be needed from the campus and faculty to provide the product.
How do I get my course materials that aren’t included in the program?
Only required digital and/or physical materials for courses participating in the program are included. For suggested, recommended, or other course materials, you can order these materials online or visit the campus store where textbook experts will be happy to assist you.
How do I access my materials outside of Canvas?
To access your course materials, please follow the steps below:
- Go to My Materials: https://student.follett.com
- Select your school from the dropdown menu.
- Enter your school-issued email address and click Verify Email.
- Check your inbox and click the verification link.
- You’ll be redirected back to My Materials.
- Select your campus to continue.
If you don’t see any enrolled courses listed for your term:
- On desktop: Use the Current Semester or Term dropdown in the left-hand menu.
- On mobile or tablet: Use the Current Semester or Term dropdown located above your course list.
Physical Course Materials
Are there physical course materials included in CTAP?

When and how will I know my physical course materials are available?
If your course includes physical materials, you can identify them in My Materials by looking for the Purchased and Print icons.
The campus store will notify you via your school email when your materials are ready for pick-up.

Do I need to return my physical course materials at the end of the semester?
No. Required physical materials provided through the program can be kept by the student at the end of the term and do not need to be returned.
If I already received physical course materials but later opted out of CTAP, dropped a course, or withdrew from the University; what happens if I don’t return the physical course materials to my A&M-Victoria Campus Store?
If you opt out of CTAP or drop a course after you have received physical course materials, you must return the physical course materials to Your A&M-Victoria Campus Store within two weeks of the opt out deadline. If materials are not returned, you will be automatically opted back into CTAP, and the associated fees will be applied to your account.
