Medical Exemptions

A student is not required to submit evidence of receiving the vaccination against bacterial meningitis if the student submits an affidavit or certificate signed by a physician who is duly registered and licensed to practice medicine in the United States, stating that in the physician’s opinion, the vaccination would be injurious to the health and well-being of the student.

The affidavit/certificate/letter must contain:

  • Student's first and last name as it appears in Texas A&M University-Victoria records
  • Student's date of birth (month/day/year)
  • Health practitioner full name, signature or stamp
  • Health practitioner must date (with a 4-digit year beginning in 2020) the document, or the document will be rejected.

Conscience Exemption

Submitting a Reason of Conscience Exemption:

Online-only Enrollment Exemption

Pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.9192 and applicable Texas A&M University System policies, students who are enrolled exclusively in online (distance education) courses are exempt from the bacterial meningitis immunization requirement. To request this exemption, the student must complete the Online-Only-Enrollment-Meningitus-Immunization-Exemption-form and submit it through the Med+Proctor website.
