Purpose of Academic Advising

Academic advising is a shared partnership between you and your advisor. Our goal is to support your academic success by helping you understand your degree requirements, make informed decisions, and stay on track toward graduation.

What You Can Expect from Your Advisor

What is Expected of You (the Student)

  • Check your university email regularly
  • Review your Degree Progress Report (DPR) each semester
  • Register for courses on time
  • Prepare for advising appointments
  • Follow degree requirements in the university catalog
  • Meet all deadlines

Advising Appointments

Course Registration

Students are responsible for registering for their courses through the student portal.

Advisors provide guidance but do not register students unless in special circumstances.

After the first week of classes, additional approvals may be required.

Degree Progress Report (DPR)

The DPR is your official tool for tracking degree completion.
