Hello, Jaguars!
Congratulations! You made it through the first week! I’m so happy to see so many of you on campus, and I can’t wait to see how this year will come together for all of us – students, faculty and staff. Love that you’ve started off the year with a Roarrrr!
I’ve been able to attend many of the Weeks of Welcome events this week, and I have to say, the energy and excitement on campus is just electrifying! I love seeing all of our new freshmen and returning students. And everywhere I go, there seem to be smiles on people’s faces. I especially loved greeting students at the Pretzels with the President event on Tuesday and the Build-A-Jaguar event on Thursday!
There are so many new things to celebrate this year, including some fancy new signage across campus. And, of course, our new students, who are bringing a vibrant presence to campus. We are so happy to have you join our community. I hope A&M-Victoria can be the home you’re looking for as you earn your degree and prepare for the next chapter of your life.

This is the perfect opportunity to try new things, things that you’ve always wanted to do. Even if they don’t work out, you can learn from the experience. Don’t let fear of failure hold you back from trying something different. Even if you fail, your university family will be here to support you and encourage you as you get up and move forward again. You got this, and we’ve got you!
