The mission of the Small Business Development Center is to foster small business success in the Crossroads Region. We are a leading economic development network recognized for excellence in service to the small business community. We build our reputation through integrity, excellence, service and innovation.

Our History

Since its inception in 1985, Texas A&M University-Victoria SBDC has been a pillar of support for the small business community in the Crossroads Region. Our mission is clear and unwavering: to help small businesses grow. By propelling job creation, fostering economic success, and catalyzing business growth, the SBDC program contributes significantly to the advancement of the Texas economy.

Our center serves as a hub of professionalism, extending no-cost and confidential advising services to entrepreneurs seeking to launch or expand their ventures. With expertise spanning various areas such as accounting, financing, loan packaging, capital procurement, business planning, marketing, human resources, economic development, strategic planning, and financial analysis, we stand as a comprehensive resource for business owners.

The A&M-Victoria Small Business Development Center plays an instrumental role in fueling growth and progress across an expansive 11-county region. Our efforts directly contribute to job creation, the broadening of economic diversification, and business expansion.

Lindsay
Young, MBA

Center Director

Lindsay joined the SBDC in September 2011.  Before becoming the Director, she was a Senior Business Advisor as well as the center's Finance and Operations Manager.  In her current role, she oversees a team of dedicated professionals who provide a wide range of services, including business advising, training programs, and access to valuable resources. Prior to joining the SBDC, Lindsay worked in the banking sector in anti-money laundering and compliance. She has also worked in the mortgage industry, as well as in change management, retail and customer service. Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Development from Texas A&M University and has a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Management from the University of Houston-Victoria.

Funded in part through the State of Texas and a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Small Business Development Center services are provided to all U.S. citizens and legal residents in accordance with Federal funding requirements. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities or limited English proficiency will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance.
