Dual Credit at A&M–Victoria

What is Dual Credit?

Dual Credit lets you earn college credit at A&M–Victoria while still in high school. Courses count toward your high school requirements and give you a head start on college.

Who Can Enroll?

Agreement with A&M-Victoria

Must attend a high school with an agreement (MOU) with A&M–Victoria.

Texas Success Initiative

Must meet TSI (Texas Success Initiative) requirements or qualify for an exemption.

Dual Credit Classes

If you’re taking courses just for dual credit (non-degree seeking), TSI may not be required.

How to Apply

You must reapply every school year if you want to continue in the program.

Academic Expectations

Grades

Earn a C or better in every class.

Probation

If your GPA falls below 2.0, you’ll be limited in course hours.

Suspension

If GPA is below 2.0 again while on probation, you must sit out for a term. A second suspension ends your eligibility.

After High School

If you want to stay at A&M–Victoria after graduation, you’ll apply as a regular freshman and attend orientation.

Concurrent Enrollment Program

If you’ve finished your junior year, you can also apply through Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) to take up to 6 hours of courses per semester outside of your high school’s dual credit program.

Requirements:

  • Completed junior year (younger students need review).
  • Top 50% of class.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • TSI complete.

Application Steps:

  1. Apply through ApplyTexas.
  2. Pay $25 fee.
  3. Submit transcript, SAT/ACT scores, FERPA release, and signed agreement form.
  4. Reapply each year if you continue.

Notes:

  • CEP students pay regular tuition.
  • Not eligible for financial aid or scholarships.
