Graduation

Step 1: Preliminary Verification

After you apply for graduation, your academic advisor will review your degree requirements. If any requirements are still outstanding, you will receive an email at your university student account explaining what must be completed before your degree can be awarded.

Complete all outstanding graduation requirements no later than three weeks after the end of the term (see the Academic Calendar for exact dates).

Outstanding requirements may include:

• Submit final or outstanding transcripts
• Send AP, CLEP, or IB credit
• Submit petitions or course substitution requests
• Update your major, minor, or catalog year (if applicable)

📌 Important
Degrees are not awarded immediately after your final class. Degree awarding begins only after final grades have posted for the entire semester and the Office of the Registrar & Student Records has completed a final degree audit.

Step 2: Final Degree Audit

Once final grades have posted for the entire semester and end-of-term processing is complete, the Office of the Registrar & Student Records performs a final review of your degree requirements. Degrees are awarded only after this review has been completed.

Example: If you complete your final courses during the 8-Week 1 session, your degree will not be awarded until after the full semester ends and all term processing is complete.

Once final processing is complete, the Office of the Registrar & Student Records performs a final review of your degree requirements. Degrees are awarded only after this review has been completed.

• If all requirements have been met: Your degree will be awarded, and you will receive a confirmation email at your university student account.
• If requirements remain outstanding: You will receive an email explaining what still needs to be completed and the deadline for submitting the remaining requirements.
